What is F1 in Schools?
The F1 in Schools Competition allows UCL MechEng Students to immerse themselves in the world of design. You will be given the official F1 Model Block, and from it you will create a miniature car using CAD and CAM tools.
The challenge will run in Term 2 and 3, involving the design, simulation, manufacture, and racing of the cars submitted.
The successful participants of the competition will receive a certificate, along with mentoring throughout the length of the competition with an experienced student.
UCL x F1 in Schools
UCL Mechanical Engineering teamed up with F1 in Schools to offer a bespoke mentoring programme for secondary schools across London to help change the perceptions of science, technology, engineering and maths, by creating a fun and exciting learning environment for young people to develop an informed view about careers in engineering, science, and technology.
At UCL, our industry links will allow you to work with the best, including current Formula 1 engineers.
